Meet Ryan

A collection of various objects including a bicycle, ice cream cone, house, can of IPA beer, sunglasses, slices of pizza, a dog, a coffee cup, a lawn chair, and a pair of skates.
A man in a dark jacket, beige pants, and yellow gloves stands in front of a red brick wall, smiling.
A young man with short light brown hair and a beard, wearing black sunglasses and a red t-shirt, smiling outdoors at a sunny location with a beach or boardwalk in the background.

Hey, I’m Ryan 👋

I have my roots in Downtown, Burlington — a city I know and love. I grew up in Vermont, and after leaving for college, I chose to come back and make Burlington my home. Between the lake, the mountains, the beer, and — most importantly — the people, it’s truly a special place to live.

In Burlington, neighbors look out for one another. People show up, lend a hand, and build community. That’s what makes this city special — and it’s something I don’t take for granted.

I’ve tried to give back in real ways: serving on the Planning Commission and as a Justice of the Peace, working with business associations and the Chamber of Commerce, and helping restart Ward 8’s Neighborhood Planning Assembly.

Burlington is a great place to live — but it’s getting harder for young people to stay. Rents are high, housing is scarce, and too often the price doesn’t match the quality. Wages haven’t kept up, and students and renters are being pushed out.

I’m running for City Council because Ward 8 deserves better than the status quo. Students and renters should have a real voice — and when something isn’t working, the city should actually fix it.
